Children & Young People

At New Hope, we welcome children as an important part of our church community. Our mission is that our children know that God made, loves, and desires a relationship with them and become active followers of Jesus. We believe that parents are the main spiritual teachers in their children’s lives and our role at New Hope is to support them.

Sunday School
Sunday School meets every Sunday during the school year at 9:45 – 10:30 AM. Children from preschool to middle school learn directly from scripture the truth of God’s way.

Children’s Church
We welcome children of all ages in our 11 AM worship service. Children are encouraged to sing and worship the way God created them. During the teaching portion of the service we have a children’s church time for ages 4-7. Young children will sing, learn, create, and play in a fun class.

Other Activities – We have a Family Karate Club where children train with a parent on Monday evenings from 6:45-8:00 pm with Sensei Dr. Bill Smith. They meet for spiritual training in the Christian Life and physical training in the Okinawa Goju Ryu style of martial arts.

The children get together occasionally to learn a special song to sing during the worship service, get together for a game night, go bowling, make crafts, help deliver backpacks and school supplies, fill OCC shoeboxes, decorate the church for Christmas and go caroling in the neighborhood.
